Agriculture

Good food starts with thriving soil! We work hard to keep our soil healthy and balanced, which helps lots of plants and animals thrive. This also benefits the environment in many ways.

Save our soil!

At Sibbjäns, we're dedicated to improving soil health. Ultimately, healthy soils are the foundation for nutritious food, better water regulation, rich biodiversity, and vital climate solutions through carbon sequestration.

Small farming methods

We're a small farm with a variety of crops and animals, using a mix of old and new farming techniques to enrich our soil. Pigs, sheep and hens naturally help create the ideal conditions for our vegetables and berries.

Companion planting

In our greenhouse, we use companion planting, growing different crops together that support each other.

The basil's aroma and blossoms attract pollinators, creating a jungle-like, living microclimate.

The beans fix nitrogen, which enriches the soil.

The pumpkin spreads its leaves, providing shade and protection for the other plants.

Together, they form a small, self-sufficient ecosystem.

Sharing is caring!

By focusing on healthy soil and biodiversity, we can offer the best ingredients in our restaurant and hotel and share the flavors of the land with our guests.

At Sibbjäns, our animals are an integral part of the ecosystem. With access to pasture, humane treatment, and space, they contribute to improved soil health and biodiversity.

Our diverse landscape, with its meadows, waterways, woodlands and wetlands, provides a rich tapestry of habitats for plants and animals to thrive.
