About Gotland

In the heart of the Baltic Sea lies Gotland, an island renowned for its white beaches and flat, open landscape, where the Swedish Allemansrätten* allows for unique opportunities to explore and enjoy nature freely.

*Every mans right to public access.

Your stay likely begins in Visby, a UNESCO World Heritage fairy-tale town, whose thousand-year history echoes between the cobblestone alleys and whose impressive ring wall, encircling the old town with its Gothic church ruins, inspires anyone to delve into the island's past.

Here, you walk in the footsteps of Hanseatic merchants, breathe in the medieval atmosphere, and experience a city that has preserved its unique character for centuries.

Along the road towards southern Gotland...

... you drive through tranquil, sparsely populated landscape with stunning coastlines, whitewashed farmhouses and stone walls bordering fields and meadows. As you then travel across the vast alvar plains with their unique vegetation, you're reminded that Gotland's flora and fauna differ markedly from the mainland.

A story of its own

This difference in flora and fauna is a unique heritage from a time when the island was part of a landmass closer to the continent, creating ideal conditions for species that thrive in a milder and more lime-rich climate. Today, you can marvel at blooming orchids on the alvar, barren heaths shaped by wind and sea, and discover unique plant and animal species found nowhere else in Sweden.

Almost at the southernmost tip of the island, Sibbjäns unfolds and welcomes you our farm and its associated land totaling 180 acres across Southern Gotland's open countryside, near the coast and marked by fields and windmills.

It's a place we love, and we hope you will too.
